Welcome to Vail, Colorado

Although best known as a winter resort, Vail, Colorado is a dynamic year-round community. In summer, a mild climate, abundant sunshine and spectacular scenery create the perfect setting. In fact, many of the visitors coming to Vail for the winter activities come back in the summer and end up enjoying Vail summers even more than the winters! But Vail doesn't rest on its considerable laurels.

The premier mountain destination, Vail is consistently ranked, raved, and revered as the epicenter of skiing and snowboarding in North America. Spanning more than seven miles with over 5,200 acres of multi-faceted terrain, there really is no comparison.

Ski and board enthusiasts come from all over the world to experience Vail, Colorado's massive network of trails and high-speed lifts, Blue Sky Basin's rugged terrain, and the famous Back Bowls.

Vail’s charming pedestrian villages have an incredible array of dining options, galleries, boutiques and night clubs. Both Lionshead and Vail Village offer plenty of ways to keep your group busy off the slopes, and free local shuttle service makes it easy to get around. Adventure Ridge atop Vail Mountain provides exciting activitites such as tubing, snowmobiling for kids, and snow biking.

Vail Village and Lionshead form the heart of the Town of Vail. At the base of the slopes, these adjoining villages are clustered around their respective clock towers, which have become worldwide symbols of America's premier mountain resort. Vail! The word needs no explanation or reference. This world-renowned resort, chosen to host the prestigious World Alpine Ski Championships twice in one decade, is quite simply North America's favorite skier's destination.
