Nordic Sports Center

It's time for the other mountain experience. Need a day off the slopes? Maybe looking for something different? Try one of our Nordic experiences. Take a backcountry Snowshoe or XC tour in the beautiful white river national forest, or learn new skills like Telemark and XC skiing. Whatever your desires we have an alternative for you.

All group tours & lessons for ages 14 and up unless otherwise noted or discretion of Nordic Department for 2009 - 2010 adventures.

The Nordic School desk is conveniently located in Golden Peak! The Vail Nordic School operates under special use permit with the White River National Forest.

Snowshoeing

For all abilities. Our group leaders will take you into the surrounding wilderness as you learn about the area history, wildlife and natural surroundings. Daily group tours go from 10:00am-12:30pm ($85), while all day tours are available Wednesdays from 10:00am - 3pm ($119). Note: Tours include snowshoes, boots (adult sizes only) and poles. Shovels and beacons where appropriate. Cross Country Programs

Our tours for the beginner on up utilize the spectacular wilderness areas that surround Vail. Cross-Country skiing is where it all started. Come join us! A Beginner AM Tour is offered Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00am -1:30 pm ($85) while All Day Tours (intermediate and above) are available Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00am - 3:30pm (2-person minimum required, $119). Note: Tours (with the exception of the skin & ski) include skis, boots and poles. Shovels and beacons where appropriate. Telemark Programs

Free your heel and free your mind. Learn new on-mountain skills or improve your current abilities.

Vail Telemark Workshops are offered from 9:00am - 3:00pm. All levels are welcome and recieve $10 off if you pre-register.

Coed workshops are available Jan. 6 & 23, Feb. 13, Mar. 13, Kids (ages 6 - 14) - Jan. 17, Mar. 7. The cost is $89 or $138 w/lift ticket.

Small Group Telemark Workshops for up to 3 people are offered at a half day rate of $325 or a full day rate of $475. They must be booked through Vail Nordic Department and reservations are suggested.

Guests can also participate in Tele Fest -- Come and join us for a day of tele fun on the mountain Feb. 27th at 9am for clinics, fun, goodies, and more. Call for more information and pre-registration. Costumes encouraged!

Private Lessons are available for half and full days upon availability and are good for up to 6 people. Reservations are required and rates are $475 half day or $675 full day. Please arrive 35 minutes prior to all tour start times to get outfitted, etc.
